This fossilised tooth is from the largest shark to ever live, the Megalodon. It has no living relatives and was the last in a line of giant sharks, that for reasons unknown died out over two million years ago. Its teeth have been found all over the world, the largest being approx 7.5" in size.

From the Palaeocene period comes this fossilised sharks tooth. At around 60 million years old this tooth was found off the coast of Morocco. I will have been one of about 20,000 that each shark naturally loses during its lifetime. Approximate size 1.5cm x 2cm
